Frédéric Chopin, arr. Stratton

Arranged by New England trumpet player Don Stratton, this short, pensive piece features the bass trombone, which solos throughout. It is in the original key of B-minor and a solid low B-natural is required of the solo part. The supporting parts are not difficult but require taste and expression. For two Bb trumpets, horn and bass trombone. Trombone sub for horn and 3rd Bb trumpet sub for horn allow this piece to be played by a variety of instrument combinations. It also works beautifully with a bassoon and three Bb clarinets.
